BlackBox

The GERMANEERS BlackBox is a smart energy management module for the intelligent control of auxiliary equipment and consumers in motor vehicles and commercial vehicles.

The BlackBox can be connected directly to the vehicle or auxiliary battery. The vehicle electrical system is thus simply extended. The up to 56 output channels enable the user to set up numerous additional installations in the vehicle, protect them and switch them conveniently and wirelessly via mobile device (APP), via USB, via discrete switches or via CAN.

In addition to the manual control option, it is also possible to implement switching sequences with switch-on and switch-off delays. The switching behavior can be set via various interfaces (e.g. CAN, WLAN, Bluetooth). The black box can be adapted to any application by the customer via the open interfaces. The individual consumers can also be operated from the driver's workplace via an optional, remote control unit.

When designing the BlackBox, the use of fuses was deliberately avoided. The individual channels are monitored using intelligent electronics. This continuously monitors all channels and can react immediately in the event of overvoltage, short circuit or open load and switch off the individual channels. The user is then immediately informed visually and, if required, audibly of the switch-off and the reason for the switch-off. It is no longer necessary to replace a fuse. The switched-off channel can be reset immediately by the user.

The system is designed for use in motor vehicles and is protected against quiescent current. In addition, it reacts to the vehicle network and automatically initiates sleep mode (configurable) as soon as the vehicle goes into bus sleep mode. The area of application includes development vehicles, test vehicles, show vehicles, special installations in commercial vehicles and smart power management in motorhomes. In principle, the system can be used wherever additional installations need to be switched, monitored and controlled.
