The Germaneers Control Unit is a fully integrated automotive controller with E1 approval on an Android basis. The control unit is connected to the existing vehicle display and can be operated with the integrated operating controls of the vehicle (e.g. rotary push-button actuator, touch control, etc.).

Through the implementation of an Android app, any content can be presented ergonomically operable in the vehicle. Access to the vehicle buses (e.g., CAN, CANopen) can be provided by a SDK in Android. A partial superimposition of the serial display is also possible. In addition, the control unit has a WLAN and LTE module for internet access.

Since autumn 2016, the german police uses an android police car app developed by Germaneers on the basis of a GCU high.
